Drive around Marangaroo and you can pick the fences that are on borrowed time. The suburb went up through the 1980s, so most boundaries are still running the original fence, and forty years is about all any of them had in them. What usually goes first is the gate. Decades of being swung, slammed and leaned on drops the hinge side, and once a gate drags on the ground the rest of the run starts pulling apart with it.
Homes here are mostly single-storey family houses on decent blocks, and the streets over near the golf course sit on ground that runs flat to gently undulating. Underneath it is the same sand and limestone as the rest of the northern suburbs. Digging is quick because of that, but posts have to be concreted properly or the fence will start moving again inside a few years. Where a block falls away at the back, a low retaining wall goes in first so the fence has something level to sit on.

Sandy ground drains fast but it also moves, so footings and drainage do the real work on a wall like this. Both go in properly, and where a fence sits on top we set the posts through the wall as we build rather than drilling them in later.
If there is a pool on the property, the barrier around it has to meet AS1926 and pass a council inspection. We install frameless glass, semi-frameless glass and flat-top aluminium pool fencing, all set out to the required heights, gaps and non-climbable zones.
Older pool fences are a common problem around here because the rules have tightened since a lot of them went in. If yours has failed an inspection, bring us the report and we will go through it with you and fix only what actually needs fixing.
Not every fence needs replacing. A couple of rotted posts, a sagging rail, or three or four sheets damaged after a storm can often be sorted for a fraction of a full rebuild, and we are happy to do that work.
What we will not do is patch something that is past it and then charge you again a year later. If a fence has less than a season or two left in it, we will tell you and price a replacement instead so you can make the call yourself.
